RoHS Statement

Introduction

RoHS (Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances) is an EU Directive (2002/95) that restricts the use of 6 hazardous materials (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium and 2 brominated flame-retardants) in the manufacture of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE).

It is closely linked with, and takes its scope from, the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive.

The legislation came into force on 1st July 2006.

Implications

RoHS does not apply to Easypack machines built before 1st July 2006 and they can be repaired using non-compliant components. Neither does it apply to replacement components that expand the capacity of and/or upgrade those machines. However, products built after 1st July 2006 must comply with the directive and can only be repaired using compliant components.

Compliance

All machines built by Easypack Ltd after 1st July 2006 comply with the EU Directive on RoHS.
